Miley and the rest of her Cyrus family have posted a message her official website about the bus crash that occured earlier this morning south of Richmond, Virginia, which claimed the life of bus driver Bill Douglas.
The Cyrus family posted, “”We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill ‘Uncle Bill’ Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”
The bus was traveling along with three other buses (carrying members of Miley’s production crew but not Miley) southbound on Interstate I-85 just south of Petersburg, VA, when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned.
While they won’t actually come out and say it, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth clearly have more than your typical friendship.
The 16-year-old actress/singer revealed to Seventeen mag (via People) about their chemistry together.
Miley shared, “I’ve never gotten along with someone so well. I was a little anxious about making this movie; I wanted everything to be perfect. To go on set and feel insecure was a totally new element for me. But he felt the same way. He admitted his insecurities, and it was really nice to have someone who understands me for once.”
She continued, “We’ve decided that any type of relationship that we have, we will always just keep it very D.L. First and foremost, we are best friends, so that’s what I tell people all the time.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Miley and Liam’s special relationship?
Miley Cyrus has stars in her eyes in this new outtake from the December 09/January 2010 of Seventeen magazine.
The 16-year-old spilled to the mag about fashion, Tybee Island and costar Liam Hemsworth. Check it:
On picking trends for her fashion line, Miley Cyrus & Max Azria: “We look into fashion designs very much in advance. We started the plaid shirts and the cheetah pants before people started seeing it [on runways]. When you first look at it as a designer, you think Okay, this is going to be a little crazy. But you don’t know what’s going to be in in a year like Max [Azria] does. Max looks at other designers, and you know it’s very advanced. He’s got the inside scoop.”
On her love for touring: “With a tour, you’re doing the exact same thing every day for like a year. So sometimes that can be kind of hard, because you’re like, I want to do something new and exciting. So you’ve got to make it your job as the artist — especially since we do some cities twice — to make it something new and fun every night. So we’ll do games and stuff on the stage: We have this one stupid dance move that we do that we keep tally of and see who in the show can do it the most in that night, and we keep it fun and do silly things, but still also put on a great show.”
On the possibility of leaving Los Angeles behind: “I think one day I’ll live on Tybee [Island, where The Last Song was filmed]. That’s where I see myself 10 years from now. I could see myself maybe wanting to just chill out and be somewhere like that. And that’s where I feel at home, where I feel like my heart is.”
On her The Last Song costar Liam: “So I heard a rumor that he didn’t really want the role, and so when he came in to audition for the role, I’m thinking Here’s this guy, he’s amazingly good-looking, super-confident, and he doesn’t realize how blessed he is to be in this room, because I know how blessed I am. This is such a big opportunity for both of us.”
It’s like the Easter bunny just pooped on a unicorn. Miley Cyrus, tween America’s pole-prancing, party-in-the-U.S.A.-ing overlord, wants nothing to do with Twilight—arguably the only pop cultural benchmark more important to her target demographic than her own multi-media empire.
“I’ve never seen [Twilight], and nor will I ever,” she tells Ohio radio station Q92 in a filmed backstage interview. “I don’t believe in it—I don’t believe in it. I don’t like vampires, I don’t like any of the stuff, like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it, I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts, any of it.”

The 16-year-old starlet was chosen as the mag’s Style Star of the Year. The mag quotes, “She finally shed her Hannah Montana shell and showed the world she’s an A-lister with it-girl style, which is why Seventeen is honoring Miley as our Style Star of the Year!”

Check out what the 16-year-old actress/singer had to say about the Queen of England, the Save Fuzzy campaign and celeb crushes:
On the Twitter campaign, Save Fuzzy: “It’s crazy. If she does that you have to do something. It’s crazy but it’s not my cat, I don’t know what I could do. I’m not going back to Twitter. Poor Fuzzy. It’s kind of twisted.”
On getting to meet the Queen of England: “I’ve been to London before but I’ve never met her. It’s going to be cool. I’d love to teach her the ‘Hoedown Throwdown.’”
On The Last Song: “I talk about it in my show. I feel like I’m showing everyone a piece of my summer. I had a lot of growing up to do and a lot of changes to make in my life. I needed to get away and get away from L.A. for a little while and it was such a blessing to be able to go to Georgia. I’m super excited about this movie. It’s a more mature movie for sure. It’s about her [Ronnie] losing her dad, divorce…real subjects that real people go through.”
On her current celebrity crush: “Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl. I just saw him in The Stepfather and I’m pretty obsessed with him. I actually didn’t know who he was and I went to see the movie as a joke, because the previews looked scary but I wasn’t sure if it was scary. It was actually a good movie.”
