Miley Cyrus - Biography

On November 23, 1992, Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus welcomed Destiny Hope Cyrus into the world. Destiny was a happy young child who was always smiling. This resulted in the nickname "Smiley" which soon transformed into her new and very original name, Miley.

Miley grew up in Tennessee, USA with her family. She enjoyed cheerleading and being with her family and friends. Miley was used to being around or in the spotlight, for her father was a country singer and a heart throb to the world when she was young. Billy Ray Cyrus' song Achy Breaky Heary brought him huge success. Miley constantly appeared with her father on television shows, and sung with him at concerts.

Wanting a name of her own, Miley set out for the role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana for the hit Disney TV-series "Hannah Montana". When she first auditioned, Miley was only 12 years old and the producers and casting agents kept telling her that she was far too young to play the role. Miley fought hard, and kept auditioning for what she believed in and finally she got the role and was ready to pursue her dream. Little did she know that the television series would be a huge hit, and would bring her world wide fame.

With Miley's huge success in "Hannah Montana", Miley got to show off not only her acting skills, but her singing skills to. Miley is the youngest person to have two CDs be first on the charts in one year.

In early 2008, Miley officially changed her name from Destiny Hope Cyrus to Miley Ray Cyrus. Miley chose her middle name after her bestfriend and father, Billy Ray. Also in 2008, Miley and one of her best friends and back up dancers Mandy Jiroux started a youtube show called The Miley & Mandy Show where they showcase what they like to do in their spare time. After their youtube show became a huge success, Miley and Mandy participated in one of the biggest online battles with a dance crew named ACDC. The Dance battle was viewed worldwide, and to decide the final champions the M&M Cru and ACDC pulled out all of their stops at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards where the M&M Cru was crowned the winners. Miley and Mandy also used their show to promote what they believe in, like going green and helping the environment. Miley also came out with her second album Breakout in the summer of 2008, which was a huge hit.

Miley is growning up fast, and is destined for even more success. With her family and friends at her side, nobody knows how far she can go.
